Subsea Infrastructure Sensory Pod
A multidisciplinary engineering project combining embedded software, sensing, and mechanical design for offshore monitoring.
What it was
The subsea pod project addressed electrical faults and fluid contamination risks in offshore infrastructure.
It required combining sensor integration, embedded programming, enclosure design, and testing into a single working prototype.
Technical approach
- Programmed an ATmega328P in embedded C and integrated conductivity and ultrasonic sensing modules.
- Used SolidWorks and 3D printing to iterate on enclosure and mounting design for subsea-style operation.
- Handled data logging, threshold detection, and serial communication for retrieval and debugging.
Outcome
This project shows comfort working across software, hardware, and physical design under one engineering brief.
